President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced that the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) is expanding its courses across the provinces to increase the number of Hafiz throughout the nation. He shared this initiative during his address at this year's National Day celebrations.

President Muizzu highlighted that the Hafiz programs are being developed to train more young Khatibs and send Imams abroad for advanced training.

"……..It is for this noble purpose that the Hafiz program is being extended across the country, with the goal of increasing the number of Hafiz. Additionally, the Islamic University of Maldives is producing young preachers and sending Imams overseas for training and development."

In collaboration with various island councils and associations, IUM is working to expand higher education and Quranic training in the provinces, offering a wide range of courses at different levels in the field of Quranic studies.
