Published: 27/08/2024

The Ministry of Higher Education, Labour, and Skills Development has signed an agreement with the Maldives Association of Human Resource Professionals (MAHRP) to implement a series of programs aimed at fostering a generation of productive workers. This collaboration will provide comprehensive career guidance to students and workers through the National Careers Service, supported by the Sustainable and Integrated Labor Services (SAILS) Project.

The initiative focuses on improving workplace productivity across various industries and helping workers identify areas for growth. The agreement was signed by Permanent Secretary Aishath Hikma on behalf of the Ministry, and co-founder and MAHRP President Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim.

Supported by the World Bank, the SAILS Project is designed to teach essential skills to employees in the labor market, promote workforce participation in the tourism sector, increase the number of women in the labor market, and expand opportunities for individuals with disabilities. In addition to SAILS, the Ministry is spearheading several projects aimed at developing and strengthening the skills of Maldivian youth.
