Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) has commenced design works of Junior Colleges and state of the art Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Centers with local design firms.

The scope of works included preparation of conceptual designs and detailed drawings needed for the development of Junior colleges at Ha.Dhidhoo and N.Kendhikulhudhoo and TVET Centers at R.Alifushi and Gn.Fuvahmulah.

Design works have been awarded to Epoch Associates Pvt. Ltd on a brief meeting held at the Ministry of Higher Education. The Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Higher Education, Fathimath Hilmy signed the agreement on behalf of the ministry and Managing Director of Epoch Associates Pvt. Ltd Muaviyath Abdul Sattar signed on behalf of Epoch Associates Pvt. Ltd.

A junior college is a post-secondary educational institution offering programs to prepare students for skilled trades and technical occupations and workers in support roles in various different professions. While, state-of-the-art TVET centers are mega multi-disciplinary institutes equipped with modern labs and training facilities these institutes will offer program qualifications ranging from Certificate-I to Advanced Diploma. Ultimately, Degree programs will be offered in the areas of Technical and Vocational Education and Training
